Q) Do we review / accept special items?

A) We do not accept Wedding Dresses, Maternity, Kids, Men’s, Fur Coat, Ski Wear, and such.

Q) What days do we accept consignments?

A) We post the scheduled days/times each week on the home page.  It is updated each Friday by noon.

Q) How long is the consignment period and what is the split?

A) It is a 60-day consignment and the payout split is 50/50 of the sale price.

Q) How many items may I bring to review?  How often can I consign?

A) See the Home Page for Details.

Q) How often do we pay?

A) We prepare payouts once a month for the previous month’s sales.  The payout will remain on the books for 6 month’s ONLY.   It is the consignors responsibility to check for owed money within the 6 months of a consignment sale.   After 6 months, unclaimed money will be forfeited and removed from books.  Consignors may come to the store and pick up their payout anytime during the month.   No payouts will be given after 12:00 pm on the final working day of the month.

Q) Do we pay (credit, cash, or check)?

A) At the end of the month, the payouts are reconciled.  If the consignor is owed a payout less than $75, it will be paid in cash (whole dollars earned only).  If the consignor is owed a payout at least $75, it will be paid by check.   We do not mail cash or checks automatically.   If you move out of the area, we can arrange a special mail at the time of the consignment drop-off (please ask at that time).

Q) How do we price?

A) Our goal is to sell your items at a competitive price within the 60-day consignment period.  We factor designer, item type, item age, item condition, current market demand, and additional marketing resources required.

Q) How do we keep track of everyone’s items?

A) Each consigner is assigned an account number.  Each item is entered into the computerized inventory system against the consignor’s account.    A tag with a barcode is produced for each item.  This tag corresponds to the item and the consignor.  Each night, we post tickets for each item sold.  Our system records the date of the sale for accounting purposes.

Q) What happens if a consignor wants their unsold items at the end of the 60 day consignment period?

A) We have 2 types of consignors (return consignor & donate consignor).  If you want your UNSOLD ITEMS back at the end of the 60 day consignment period, then you will be considered a RETURN CONSIGNOR.  You will be given paperwork with your expiration date and instructions for requesting your items back.  It is the RETURN CONSIGNORS responsibility to keep up with the paperwork and initiate the return as instructed on the paperwork.   Once the consignor initiates the return items process, we will pull the unsold merchandise from the floor (during closing hours).    **** Once an item is returned to the consignor, it will NOT be eligible for reconsignment with us unless special approval is provided by the store owner.  NOTE: we are partnering with donation organizations that support Domestic Abuse, Teen Pregnancy, and Sex Trafficking.

Q) What happens to the items if a consignor doesn’t contact us at the end of the 60 day consignment period.

A) RETURN CONSIGNORS who do not call us within 3 days after the EXPIRATION PERIOD, transfer all items to the store.   At that time, at our discretion , we rapidly discount or donate inventory.  The consignor’s account will show a posting for donate for each item.

The majority of our consignors (donate consignors) follow this process.   Note: we are partnering with donation organizations that support Domestic Abuse, Teen Pregnancy, and Sex Trafficking.

Q) How often may I consign?

A) Return consignors may bring items 1 time per 60 days (allowing 1 active consignment at a time).  A return consignor may consign again after their current consignment has expired and items are scheduled for return.

A) Donate consignors may bring 2 times per month (skipping a week between drop-offs).

Q) What if I have a lot to consign due to a recently deceased loved one?

A) We could help consign your items for this special circumstance.  You would be a donate consignor (clothing, shoes, purses, misc) with the ability to request a return of special jewelry pieces.   We would work out a drop-off schedule specifically for you.  These arrangement would be made directly with the owner.   Please stop by any Monday to make the arrangement and complete paperwork.
